Starr found The Yoga Stand in 2011. She expected to enjoy the classes, but she wasn’t expecting it to change her life. “I remember driving home after my very first practice…. I was so happy and energized! I hadn’t done anything for myself, anything that I truly loved in years. It felt so good. The more I went, the more I loved it!” What began as a physical practice became a whole shifting of my lifestyle, my outlook, and my way to serve others
Starr and her husband, Jeff, have a daughter, a son and a dog named “Fred.” She attended Level 1 Boot Camp with Baron Baptiste in June of 2012, Art of Assisting in Jan 2013, and Level 2 Boot Camp with Paige Elenson and Kiersten Mooney in Oct. 2013. In 2014, Starr completed her 200 HR RYT Certification at The Yoga Stand. Starr also attended Dylan Werner’s Inversion Workhsop. Starr continues her education through Yoga & Athletes Certification Programs. I love to work with elite athletes. Texas Tech Men’s Basketball and Men’s and Women’s Tennis have me working with their athletes regularly. Yoga is foreign to them, but discipline is not. I enjoy being a part of their quest to keep themselves mobile, injury free and at the top of their game. As one of the Senior teachers at The Yoga Stand, Starr loves teaching ALL levels. She is especially fond of teaching the Solstice/Equinox Workshops every year at The Yoga Stand.
When Starr is on her mat she likes poses that are playful, powerful and graceful. I believe everyone needs yoga, and I plan to share it with as many people as possible. I want you to know that you matter. Your mental health, your spiritual growth and your physical well being all matter. Yoga is a jumping off point to creating radiant health in ALL areas of your life, and YOU deserve it! Yoga has taught me so much about myself. It is considered a “practice” and that speaks to my heart.
Starr is 200 HR RYT Certified through The Yoga Stand Teacher Training School.
